The
perfect professional grinder for home or cafe.
If you’ve been looking for a high quality professional
grinder that does not resemble the Empire State building
when perched on your kitchen bench top then look no further.
Anfim is an Italian company who has been manufacturing
professional grinders for over 50 years under their own
name as well as for others (ECM, Pasquini etc.) and are
even a parts supplier for competitors such as Mazzer.

The two grinders manufactured by Anfim suitable for the domestic/semi-commercial
environment are the “Haus” (also known as the Pasquini
Moka) and the top of the range “Best”. Although
these two grinders look similar externally they are quite different
beneath the skin.
The motor featured in the “Best” is 3 times larger
than the “Haus” and the grinding burrs are nearly
10% bigger. This enables the “Best” to spin at a
lower speed without slowing the grind output (~15 seconds to
grind 14oz) which in turn reduces the possibility of burning
the coffee during grinding. The “Best” even spins
25% slower than it direct competitor the Mazzer-Mini and is
the reason we prefer it over the “Haus” and Mazzer-Mini
grinders.
Set in a rigid cast alloy body (not thin steel or stainless
like many other brands) and weighing nearly 8kg the “Best”
is a serious piece of equipment that can proudly sit along side
any domestic or commercial espresso machine. Like most other
high-end grinders the doser is adjustable so you can set the
amount of coffee dropped during each click of the dosing lever
and as a good % of the dosing mechanism is metal, the dosing
action not only has a quality feel to it but also does not suffer
from static issues as with many other grinders.
Featuring 50 individual grind setting you will never be left
wanting that extra “half step” between settings.
During my 3 month testing along side the Mazzer (which features
infinite micro-adjustable grind settings) I never found the
“Best” lacking in adjustability. In fact I preferred
the “Best” as it was easier to dial in and make
adjustments over the hit and miss Mazzer as well as being substantially
quieter during grinding. |
